This unique collaborative effort between two uniquely gifted musicians is bound to be a revelation to traditional music fans on several counts. Rob Ickes is a longtime, well-established instrumental giant, recognized as the Bluegrass Dobro performer of the year more than fifteen times, along with countless other awards garnered from his two-decade association with Blue Highway.
For his part, Trey Hensley is more or less newly-arrived in Music City, and bursting with talent both as a vocalist and guitarist. Marty Stuart first invited Hensley to share the Grand ‘Ol Opry stage at the tender age of eleven. Since that time, he’s gone on to play with nearly all of his musical heroes, and was nominated for a 2017 Grammy.
